Rich in mining history, the West Coast offers a great range of riding across the region from the shorter rides around Hokitika to the much longer tracks which form part of the New Zealand Cycle Trail. 
Blenheim is famous for its vineyards, including a good old fashion grape ride. The township has a purpose built mountain bike park at its back door, and for those wanting to take the Inland Scenic Route over summer, try riding Molesworth Station.
Surrounded by National Parks and golden beaches, Nelson is also renowned as the creative arts capital of New Zealand. The Region also boasts many fine wineries, craft breweries, countless great cafes, and some of the world’s best biking.
Kaikoura is famous for the mountains to sea landscape, and offers an awesome variety of terrain for biking. The area boasts the highest peaks outside the Mount Cook region in the South Island (Mt Tapuae-o-Uenuku stands at 2885m) and the rugged coastline is legendary. 
Christchurch City has a collection of local rides and is a gateway for many to riding throughout the South Island. 
Bounded by braided rivers, sensational Selwyn District ranges from the Pacific Ocean, across the Canterbury Plains, to the spectacular Southern Alps.

The Mackenzie region (also known as the Mackenzie Basin) was shaped by massive glaciers. Mesmerising sights include turquoise lakes, incredibly clear, starry night skies and NZ’s highest mountain, majestic Aoraki/Mount Cook. 
Breathtaking Lake Wanaka, the Southern Alps, Clutha River, Mount Aspiring National Park… Wanaka has incredible scenery year-round! 
NZ’s premier alpine resort has a mind-boggling range of things to do, and Queenstown is MTB heaven; from cruisy, flat trails to heli-biking, multi-day cross-country and extreme downhill rides. 
Central Otago is surrounded by stunning landscapes of rugged mountains, lakes, rivers and rolling farmland, steeped in history. 
Six cycle routes will be completed in Christchurch thanks to funding from the Government’s investment in shovel-ready infrastructure as part of the COVID-19 recovery.
