Surrounded by National Parks and golden beaches, Nelson is also renowned as the creative arts capital of New Zealand. The Region also boasts many fine wineries, craft breweries, countless great cafes, and some of the world’s best biking.
Kaikoura is famous for the mountains to sea landscape, and offers an awesome variety of terrain for biking. The area boasts the highest peaks outside the Mount Cook region in the South Island (Mt Tapuae-o-Uenuku stands at 2885m) and the rugged coastline is legendary. 
Christchurch City has a collection of local rides and is a gateway for many to riding throughout the South Island. 
Bounded by braided rivers, sensational Selwyn District ranges from the Pacific Ocean, across the Canterbury Plains, to the spectacular Southern Alps.
