Kia ora Chillers
We’ve put this section together to help you out when traveling and give you a local’s heads up re Christchurch.
As you’ve probably heard Christchurch has been shaken by a couple of earthquakes of late. Luckily for us we don’t ski in Christchurch and for the most part the city is fine (we still live here). If you fly in to the airport and head to the mountains you’ll be hard pressed to find any damage. If you fly in a head to Scarborough for a surf then that’s a different story, but hey, it’s too cold to be surfing now.
We do not post passes internationally but if you a Kiwi living outside of Chch or are flying in from abroad and want your passes sent to your accommodation we can send them anywhere in NZ if you get in touch early enough. Alternatively come in and see us, we’re on the outskirts of the Christchurch CBD on the airport side. We prefer this option as it gives us a good chance to meet all our pass holders and point you in the direction of the next storm and fresh tracks.
We are located 399 Montreal St
(Just past the cnr of Montreal St and Victoria St – not far from the Casino)
We’re also experts in rope tows and have a range or accessories and tips to help you master these tows. We have a range of back country equipment available for sale and rental as well. So if you’re looking for a shovel, transceiver or probe you know where to come.
Once you’re in the Christchurch and kitted out with your pass, nutcracker and local knowledge then it’s off to the mountains. You’re spoilt for choice in the South Island so it’s best to stay in local townships to minimise travel times or alternatively stay on the mountain.
There’s a range of ski-in-ski-out options. Check out our travel section for more info over email us hq@chillout.co.nz
If you’ve got any questions regarding the pass or the current season feel free to get in touch or look out for a copy of our CHILL Mag in all good ski and board shops NZ wide. Alternatively you can check it out online here.
If you’re unfamiliar with the Licence to CHILL Multi-Mountain Snow it’s a pass that grants you access to 11 ski areas. There’s a mix of smaller commercial, family fields and club ski areas on the one pass and a wide range of terrain and facilities to cater to all. If you’re use to 5-Star accommodation, gondolas and heated chairlifts then you’re in for a shock. If your an outdoors person and like getting a healthy dose of nature in raw alpine environments then you’ve come to the right place.
We have a selection of short and long term passes ranging from 3, 5, 7 and 10 day passes right the way through to full season passes. If you’re after a pass simply check out our online shop.
